California is a good example. On the face of it the state has an excellent solar and wind resource. But the challenge is that the solar and wind energy peak in the summer months and fall a lot in the winter. In order to fill the seasonality gap either a huge amount of long term storage is needed or a renewable energy resource that is out of phase with wind and solar. In the case of seasonal storage the quantities of equipment and materials for any solution currently in development appear to be huge. On the other hand there is already an enormous battery just to the west that delivers energy out of phase with wind and solar. In the winter when wind and solar are at their weakest, wave energy peaks. With wind, solar and wave in the mix the 100 percent renewables challenge is much more do-able – as well as generating tens to hundreds of thousands of new skilled jobs.
Now Cimco is developing a new generation OXE based on a six cylinder, twin turbo, 3-liter diesel from BMW. Internally, Cimco calls this the Bison project. The next generation prototypes are currently being built and are scheduled to hit the water in early July. Start of production is scheduled for spring 2020.
The Titan XD has a few new features for 2019 (elaborate Fender audio system, for one) but it’s largely the same truck introduced for 2016: heavier-duty than a non-heavy-duty, less heavy-duty than a heavy-duty. Follow? The XD’s 5.0-liter Cummins V-8 makes 310 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque, which you’d think would be enough to smash every half-ton’s tow rating, but not really—the XD maxes out at 12,710 pounds towing, which these days is a half-ton number. Max payload is likewise more in line with half-tons than HDs, at 2,490 pounds. Part of the issue is that the truck itself weighs as much as 6,740 pounds, so the Cummins does a lot of work hauling around its Nissan wrapper before the first stick of firewood goes in the bed.

In late September, you can barely travel a block in Lawrence without encountering a construction crew in their gray and yellow vests. On Colonial, a block from where the Figueroas had lived, a construction crew mills around a hole in the road. A goateed worker in a hard hat says he “isn’t at liberty to say” what, precisely, they are doing. “You need to talk to a Columbia Gas coordinator,” he says. Columbia Gas has hired 1,300 employees from around the country and is housing them on a cruise ship in Boston Harbor. Is it true that the company might not actually replace the cast-iron pipes? That they might instead (as at least one expert suggested) use them as sleeves for new plastic pipes that are small enough to slip inside? It’s a tried-and-true method of upgrading pipeline, and it would not only be faster, but cheaper.
It’d also be easy for Garmin executives to dismiss this post as an attempt to get clicks or views. But realistically, the views from a piece like this are inconsequential for this site in the scheme of a month’s worth of posts. Just like they could argue that James’ tweet (a very well respected cycling reviewer and journalist) would naturally become an echo-chamber of 518+ replies. But we’d all know that’s not true. We’d all know that what those 518 replies represent is paying customers’ frustrations with products they’d otherwise love. After all, Garmin’s social media team actually tried to respond to two people in that storm, before they realized they were driving their vehicle the wrong way during a hurricane evacuation.
CFM confirmed Saturday that it has caught up on production of its Leap engine line, almost one year after company executives told reporters at the Farnborough Air Show that the company had fallen behind by as much as four weeks. The company met its target of delivering 1,100 engines in 2018 and fully expects to meet its 2019 goal of 1,800, representing a 60 percent year-over-year increase in production, reported CFM chief executive Gael Meheust during a pre-show briefing in Paris.
Leonel and her sons will be hungry soon—Leonel ends up at their table all the time, he is like another son to her—so she puts rice and beans on the stove. She and Shakira take turns showering. The two of them are going to eat at a Mexican restaurant in nearby Lowell that Omayra likes; on Thursdays there is live mariachi. Omayra runs the clothes dryer. She takes the beans off the gas and stirs the rice.

NBC 7 Responds has been investigating high water bills since last July after a Pacific Beach homeowner told us her bill shot up by more than five times over the course of one month. Since then dozens of homeowners have called NBC 7 Responds with their own stories of high water bills.
I have a Vivoactive 3. Have been happy for a year. Just when the warranty expired, I started to encounter a VERY frustrating backlight problem: the backlight always remain on, but around something like 5% light intensity. So it generates light and annoyance at night. I’ve tried everything (reset, settings such as DND on/off, auto-lock, etc.) but it remains. Anyone with the same pb?
